Women and men use the imternet

1. Men are slightly more intense internet users than women.
2. Women are more likely then men to use email to write to friends are family about a variety of topics: sharing news and planning events.
3. Men use email more than women to communicate with various kinds of organization.
4. Women include a wider range of topics and activities in personal emails.
5. More online men than women perform online transactions.
6. Men log on more often spend more time online and are more likely to be broadband users.

There is no shocker that women came up more times then the men did. Women love to go online and chat with friends, gossip, and just looking up random stuff. Men are more into sports, listening to music, and checking emails.

Bonding or Bridging sites

Facebook is a bonding site because people together and talk to peers. We can also find people that we haven't talked to or seen in a long time. We can look at peoples pictures, play games, change our satus and do other crazy things to make our friends laugh. We can also send personal emails from our peers.

First class is other bonding site because we can email peers and teachers. Students can talk to each other in the student discussions that they can share ideas and ask questions for things that they are not sure of. We can send personal emails to each other to our teachers or peers.

Comcast is a bridging site because we only can send personal emails to our peers, and co-workers, and family members. We can look up the news and other things thats going on with the world.

Internet Neutrality

The FCC's making a new plans to propose new rules that would prohibit Internet service. This provides from interfering with the free flow of information and certain applications over their net works.
The proposals would up hold a pledge Barack Obama made durning the presidential campaign to support internet neutrality and would bar companies like Verizon, Comcast, or ATT&T, from slowing or blocking certain services or content flowing through their vast networks.
These new rules will limit them from keeping their network running smoothly. They think they will be unable to prevent large users from eating up bandwidth that will slow down service for others. According to Genachowski a more open internet will promote more investment revenue for the internet srevice providers to put into managing their network.
I think its too early to decide if this is going to work or not. I think they should not make us pay more money just for us using the internet to find information that we needed. I think they also speed up the processes of laoding up websites that seems like hours for a page to come up.
